Search and Book with United First, search on United.com. Select “Book with miles” and “Flexible dates”. Choose the exact number of passengers you want to fly and “Business” class. It will be easiest to search one way at a time. Look for dates at 60k one-way and then sort and filter to find your flights. Once you confirm availability, then transfer points to book with Aeroplan (Amex, Bilt, Capital One, Chase), ANA (Amex), Turkish (Bilt, Capital One, Citi), LifeMiles (Amex w/15% bonus, Capital One, Citi) or United (Bilt, Chase). Booking with ANA Log in on ANA’s website and click the “Flight Awards” tab. Then, click “Award Reservation.” Plug in the exact dates where you found availability on United’s site. You must book roundtrip with ANA. Booking with Turkish Create an account and log in on turkishairlines.com. Then, click on your name and select “Miles Transactions.” Then, click “Book now” to open the Star Alliance Award search tool. Use the exact dates you found on United’s site. You’ll only be able to search for one passenger online if this is your first time booking with Turkish. To book more than one passenger, you’ll need to call Turkish at 1-800-874-8875 to complete the booking. United is waiving redeposit fees for award flights. You can cancel and get a full refund. Turkish charges a $70 change/cancellation fee. Aeroplan charges a $100 change fee or a $150 cancellation fee. ANA charges a 3k miles redeposit fee to cancel your flight. No cash penalty. Avianca charges a $150 change fee or a $200 cancellation fee. You’ll need to call to change/cancel with LifeMiles and it can be a painful experience. |
