This is the best deal but not all routes can be booked with AA miles. American charges 70k miles each way to most destinations (75k to Africa). Taxes & fees are low at ~$50 one-way or $200 roundtrip. Transfer Bilt points to American.
The issue with AA miles is you can currently only book through early March (compared to late March with Avios). Best availability for Feb. dates from Montreal.
