On the long haul leg of the flight, you will be flying with KLM Business Class Boeing 777/787.
KLM’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner offers 30 lie-flat seats in Business Class, 48 recliner seats in Premium Economy Class, and 216 seats in Economy Class. Located in one cabin in the front section of the plane, the 30 Business Class seats are spread over 8 rows and arranged in an excellent 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout. The seats on the side angle out toward the windows while those in the plane’s center are angled toward one another. This configuration maximizes privacy and ensures direct aisle access for all passengers.
KLM’s Boeing 777s (both the -200ER and -300ER versions) all feature the same Business Class layout, with 34 seats arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration and spread over two cabins. The main cabin is located in the plane’s front and features 5 rows comprising the bulk of the seats (28 in total) while the smaller cabin is set between the galley and Premium Economy with only one row of just 6 seats. The smaller cabin feels extremely private.
The 2-2-2 layout is ideal for passengers traveling together as a couple, friends or colleagues, but it is not the best when you are a solo traveler as you have to crawl over the legs of your seatmate to reach the aisle when you are allocated in a window seat. Also, the seats lack privacy, although paired seats are staggered by a couple of inches (cm) and separated by a small fixed divider screen, allowing some privacy in case you are seated next to a stranger.
The purchase qualifies for the SkyTeam Alliance mile and status accumulations. The ticket includes priority check-in, airport lounge access, business class meals, two pieces of checked in luggage, amenity kit, and wines, champagne and other beverages.
Even though you can probably save a few bucks by booking with some of the budget websites, we recommend booking directly with airline’s website to ensure better customer service post sales. Deals so good wouldn’t last. So, act fast!
