For your long haul leg of the flight, you will be flying with either Edelweiss Air Business Class Airbus A340 or Discover Airlines Business Class Airbus A330.
Edelweiss Air Business Class Airbus A340 has very similar configuration comparing to SWISS Airlines’ Boeing 777. They feature about five different seat configurations, as the cabin alternates between a 1-2-2 and a 2-2-1 configuration. This means every row has one so-called “throne” seat alone by the windows, two seats in the middle, and a pair of seats on the other side of the plane.
Discover’s A330 business class is same product as Lufthansa. It consists of 30 seats, spread across five rows in a 2-2-2 configuration. On the plus side, it’s nice that a leisure airline has the same business class as a full service airline.
Note that even though Edelweiss is an integrated member in the Lufthansa-Group and an affiliate of Swiss International Air Lines, it is not a Star Alliance member. The Edelweiss portion of flight might not qualify for the Star Alliance mile and status accumulations.
The ticket includes priority check-in, airport lounge access, business class meals, two pieces of checked in luggage, amenity kit, and wines, champagne and other beverages.
Even though you can probably save a few bucks by booking with some of the budget websites, we recommend booking directly with airline’s website to ensure better customer service post sales. Deals so good wouldn’t last. So, act fast!
